New Season

Tomorrow sees the start of the new season, our 31st, when we take on Fir Park Corner in a friendly at Lesser Hampden before QP plays Motherwell at Hampden in the League Cup.

Last season ended with another successful Ian Younger Sixes and Martin Kelly Memorial Game where Drew Omand was named Player of the Year, Ray Ford Players’ Player of the Year and Goal of the Season and Alan Galindo added the Top Scorer award to his horde of trophies.

Two weeks later the Anglo/Scottish Trophy was won in London against our old friends Leyton Orient in a wonderful Chaos Cup weekend in soaring temperatures. Next year’s visit to the O’s will mark 30 years since our first trip in 1988.

There are plenty of fixtures already arranged for the new season as we continue to play in the IFA (Internet Football Association) League and this season hopefully we’ll receive a dream away draw to one of the English or Welsh supporter’s teams in the British Cup. There is also the challenge to go one better in the Scottish Cup as we were runners up to Troon in this year’s Final.

All in all, there is much to look forward to as the QPSFC adventure continues!
